  1. I left my past behind in 1993 when I abandoned Texas and moved to San Diego. Recently I caught up with many of those people via Facebook connections. Ultimately, I have unfriended 99% of them because they reminded me of why I left Texas to begin with. Why go back?

    • Exactly! I wasn’t particularly happy at school, although I do remember the year this photo was taken more fondly than most. I sometimes wonder if people from school would even remember me. I was such a misfit, flitting on the edges and never really belonging. I left school altogether at 16 when my family moved towns and I couldn’t face being “the new girl” again. Best thing I ever did!
