I don’t think so. I remember going to her wedding, and I’m sure it was after Grandad died. I must ask my dad. Perhaps it was her brother’s wedding? My grandad was a widower, and his wife’s sister (Anne’s mother) was a widow, so I think he Grandad maybe took on a sort of fatherly role to his niece and nephew.
Lovely. I can’t remember, at this moment, when my grandfather was born, but I am fairly sure he died in 1964. I have only the faintest memories of him, some of which relate to the number of cigarettes he smoked.
Thanks. I know my grandad was a heavy smoker (he died of lung cancer), but I guess he may have stopped by the time I was making memories. I do vividly remember being bought raspberry iceblocks from the icecream van that came around at lunchtime. I don’t think my mum was impressed as she was trying to get me to eat “proper food.” π
Your grandmother is pretty.
π that’s actually my father’s cousin.
Is this her wedding?

My grandfather taught me to play poker. Don’t think my Mum was impressed. π She would have preferred me to learn about iceblocks.
What a hoot!
I love this blog.
Thank you π
