    • Hi Laura, yes. Mary and Hazel were in the Women’s Land Army, and as NZ itself was never directly attacked, they were relatively “safe.” I don’t know anything about Tom’s service. I have these photos of him in naval uniform and others where is in army fatigues. I’m occasionally in touch with one of his grandchildren and must ask him about it. All three married, raised families and led very full lives. Hazel died in the late 1970s or early 80s, but Mary and Tom both lived to celebrate their 80th birthdays.
