    • Hi Raewyn. Isn’t it? The Dove girls and their mother (like most NZ women) made all their own clothes. My mother-in-law’s wedding dress, and those of her bridesmaids, is another wonderful example of the family’s talent.

    • So do I. I’d love to know the colour and fabric of this dress. I can ask the Big T’s remaining aunt. She’s a lot younger, but might remember. 🙂

    • That’s a lovely description. I think like a lot of women her generation, she looked delicate but had incredible inner strength. I was fortunate to know her a little before her death, and count her daughters and granddaughters amongst my friends.

        • So do I. I am working with two groups
          of people both containing a few in their 80s. They are so knowledgeable and interesting and funny; I feel very privileged to be with them.
