Six word Saturday: eight generations of family in Dysart

This week I've managed to trace on branch of the family tree back ten generations. At least eight of them have a connection with Dysart, Fife.

This week I’ve managed to trace one branch of my family tree back ten generations. At least eight of them have a connection with Dysart, in Fife. I now have named ancestors alive when Scotland was still an independent country.

    • Yes; I feel quite ambivalent about the idea of that; I think people forget – when they point to the great achievements of Scots and our influence in the world – that most of that took place after Union. I fear Scotland becoming just another tin-potty little country riven with internal strife. The logic of secession it that we all become our own little nation state.

  1. Thank you Catherine. I suspect that is probably the end of the road – there is not likely to be much (any!) corroborating evidence going further back.
