Wordless Wednesday: Happy New Year

No family photo today, just a loud "woopee" for Scotland's People and all the new records I can search.

  1. I wish my home town would do the same.I can just imagine my ancestors stiddly posing in their Sunday best. Right now I can only go back three generations.Everyone is gone and my father has only memories now.

    • I feel very fortunate to have Scottish ancestors because the country has taken record-keeping and genealogical research so seriously (probably because there Scots emigrated so widely and we’re so fiercely patriotic even when we’re born half a world away). It is sad too when we don’t ask our older people about their lives and lose their stories. I very much regret not talking more to my grandmother before she died. Cherish your father’s memories; record them if possible. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment; much appreciated πŸ™‚

    • That’s great Catherine; look forward to reading about some of your “finds.” All the best to you and yours for 2014 πŸ™‚
